About Mario
Welcome! If you're looking for a patient, experienced chess coach who makes learning fun and structured, you're in the right place.
I am a FIDE Instructor rated 1957 FIDE, with a background in educational psychology and classroom teaching. For the past 5+ years, I’ve been teaching chess every single day to kids in schools and adults online.
Being fluent in English (C1 level), I work with students across the US, UK, Australia, and Europe. My coaching style is supportive, practical, and completely blunder-free from boring lectures!
I believe chess should be an enjoyable journey of self-improvement. Together, we’ll turn your mistakes into your greatest learning opportunities and build your confidence on the board.

What to expect from our lessons:
Every player is unique, so I don't use a generic, "one-size-fits-all" program. Whether you are a parent looking for a patient tutor for your child or an adult player stuck at a rating plateau, our sessions are interactive, fun, and tailored to your specific goals.
For Beginners & Kids:
Fun, engaging lessons using interactive boards and visual puzzles.
Building solid fundamentals: piece safety, basic tactics, and board vision.
Developing patience, logic, and decision-making skills.
For Intermediate Players & Adults (Up to 1800 ELO):
Deep Game Analysis: We review your actual online games (Lichess/Chess.com) to identify recurring tactical and positional blunders.
Tactical Pattern Recognition: Train your brain to spot calculation opportunities and avoid costly mistakes.
Practical Opening Repertoire & Endgame Techniques: Simple, reliable opening setups paired with essential endgame techniques.
How we meet:
Lessons take place online via Zoom/Google Meet using interactive Lichess Studies. You will receive full access to all study materials, annotated games, and custom exercises to review between sessions at your own pace.
