About Douglas

I am an experienced teacher (13 years of experience) and a professional in what I do. I have worked with well-known international language schools (International House, British Council, EF) and each experience has taught me something different that I include in my classes.

I am passionate about languages and that is why I design my classes to be entertaining, dynamic and have a spark! Language is a living thing and this emotion can't be restrained by offices, classrooms or degrees. Therefore, I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels, adapting to each of their needs and thus providing them with something unique and valuable :)

About the lesson

What's my methodology?
Communicative, flexible and focused on the students. We will do an assisted immersion in the language so that you are exposed to it from the beginning, but having all the tools to express yourself when you do not understand something or want to ask anything. The benefits for your understanding, pronunciation and fluency will be HUGE, believe me ;) All mistakes are welcome in our classes because they are opportunities to learn something new and improve our use of the language :P

How will we have classes?
We will have individual and personalized 60- or 90-minute classes in person or by Zoom, Skype or another way and I will give you all the necessary material (written and audiovisual). If you would like to use a specific material, we can include it without problem. We will focus on the aspects that interest you the most, whether you need it for your job, improve your performance at university/college, pass an exam or simply to move around better when you travel. We can also advance progressively in all skills if you are not in a hurry and want to assimilate the language at your own pace _へ__(‾◡◝ )>

What will you learn in class?
I'll teach you EVERYTHING from scratch if you're a beginner: the essential vocabulary, basic grammar and independent learning tools. If your level is basic or intermediate, we will develop your written and listening comprehension skills and you will learn to communicate EFFECTIVELY in the language in different situations (studies, work, personal/family life, etc.). If you are at an intermediate level or dusting off your English, we will refresh your knowledge, polish your pronunciation and expand your repertoire with more complex structures. Finally, we will perfect your oral and written production at advanced levels, giving you fluency, precision and originality. ;)
