About Aamir
I am a certified high school teacher and have successfully completed two internships in Montreal prior to moving to Edmonton. I graduated from McGill university with an Honours Degree in Applied mathematics then completed a Master's degree in Teaching and learning mathematics.

Mathematics is an abstract subject. Based on my experience as a tutor, this is exactly why students have a hard time grasping the key ideas. As a math teacher, I am going to present the material using concrete examples by relating math problems to real world applications. This not only helps the students digest the fundamentals, but also boosts their self-confidence and gets them to apply what they have learnt.
Moreover, I believe that we should step away from many of the traditional methods of teaching mathematics which put too much emphasis on individual learning. Instead, I intend to focus more on teamwork and social interaction. Students always perform better when they work together and collaborate.
