About Kristian
I am a finance professional and tutor with over 10 years of experience in financial markets, specialising in derivatives and investment products. I also have over 100 hours of tutoring experience in finance and professional exam preparation, working with students at different stages of their studies.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Business and the CISI Investment Advice Diploma (Level 4), alongside further professional finance qualifications. I currently tutor a number of students preparing for CISI, CFA and other professional finance examinations, supporting them with technical concepts, calculations, revision and exam preparation.
My particular strength is taking complex financial theory and making it practical and understandable. Wherever possible, I connect what students are learning to real-world financial markets so they understand not only the theory or formula, but why it matters and how it works in practice.
I have taught students across areas including Derivatives, Fixed Income, Equities, Investment, Risk, Financial Regulation and other investment-related topics, and I am particularly comfortable with calculation-heavy subjects.
My lessons are structured around the individual student. We can work systematically through difficult topics, practise calculations step-by-step, identify weaknesses through question practice and develop a structured study plan leading up to the exam.
For CFA students, my focus is primarily CFA Level I and the investment topics that closely align with my professional and academic background.

Are you preparing for the CFA Level I exam and looking for structured support with the more technical parts of the curriculum?
I provide one-to-one CFA Level I tuition focused on helping students understand the underlying finance rather than simply memorising formulae and definitions.
I hold the CISI Investment Advice Diploma (Level 4) alongside further professional finance qualifications and have over 10 years' experience working in financial markets and derivatives. I currently tutor a number of students preparing for professional finance examinations and have experience teaching technical investment topics, including Derivatives.

My Teaching Approach
A major part of my approach is connecting CFA theory to real-world financial markets.
Where possible, I explain not only what a formula or concept is, but why it works, what the result means and how it is used in practice. I find this makes technical material considerably easier to understand and remember.
Lessons can include structured topic teaching, worked calculations, question practice, revision and identifying weaker areas through mock-exam performance.
For students studying over several months, I can also help create a structured study programme leading up to the exam, with lessons becoming increasingly question- and exam-focused as the exam approaches.
