Hi!
I'm so excited to meet you.
I have a degree in engineering and have spent several years at home with my son before I began subbing at our local public school. I spent a lot of time in middle school and loved it enough to take the Florida Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE) in Math 6-12 and ESE K-12.
I have found that many students just need different words and to gain confidence that they can solve the problem--math is just the same steps over and over, it just looks scary sometimes!

As a substitute teacher for 2 years, I have learned that very often just hearing a concept again in different words can totally change how a student perceives a problem. Often, students see something and panic--I really focus on how to solve a problem and apply those skills across multiple subjects. As an engineer, I am an expert problem solver and have lots of real world examples for the common student complaint of "I'm never going to use MATH in real life!"
