About William
Chemical Engineering degree and minors in Math and Chemistry. Worked 2 years in the field as a Chemical Engineer and planning on going back to school for Computer Science. I am the oldest of 8 children and have been helping my siblings with schoolwork since I can remember. I work well with all ages and levels of schooling. I help my 9 year old brother with his homework daily, tutor my sister in high school for her math and science finals, and tutored in college for Organic Chemistry.

I have a very practical approach to teaching. I heard the following Albert Einstein quote years ago and it has always stuck with me: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't know it well enough." The first thing I do is to make sure I completely understand the topic which allows me to explain the topic succinctly. I have a inside-out approach to teaching. If a student is confused about something, I continue to question until I find the exact point of confusion. Once I clearly explain the point and am sure the student understands, I go back to the original question and piece the specifics of what we talked about fits into the big picture. It is a very practical approach that I honed while obtaining my engineering degree.
