About Mark
Hello! My name is Mark, and I’m a Chemical Engineering student with a deep love for problem-solving and critical thinking. My journey into teaching started early, during my time as a teaching assistant at my primary school. Back then, I helped younger students with Maths and Science, discovering not just my desire for these subjects but also my passion for helping others understand and enjoy them too. I’ve also conducted various science experiments with students, turning abstract concepts into hands-on, exciting experiences. Watching a student’s eyes light up when they grasp a tricky idea or see a science experiment come to life is what made me realise: I love teaching. Being fluent in English and almost fluent in French, I can communicate effectively in both languages, making learning accessible and tailored to your needs. My engineering background means I approach problems logically, always seeking the "why" behind every solution. This is the mindset I aim to pass on to my students. Teaching, for me, is not just about helping you get good grades (although that’s important too!)—it’s about equipping you with the tools and confidence to think independently, tackle challenges, and develop a genuine interest in the world around you.

My teaching method is built on the foundation of understanding. I believe that every student has a unique way of learning, and my goal is to discover and harness that individual approach to maximise your potential. Whether you're someone who learns visually or verbally my lessons are adaptable to your specific needs. We break down complex topics into simple, understandable parts. By ensuring a rock-solid grasp of the fundamentals, we create a strong base upon which advanced concepts naturally build. I focus on teaching you how to think critically and solve problems independently, not just replicate answers; my lessons are interactive., so you won’t just listen—you’ll ask, explore, and apply the concepts in real-time. I connect abstract mathematical concepts to real-life situations, making the material engaging and applicable.
