About Aman
Hi, I'm a chess coach from India with three years of experience teaching beginners from across the world — primarily students from the USA, UK, and Australia.
I hold a FIDE rating of 1416 and bring genuine passion for the game to every lesson. My strength is not in advanced tournament play — it's in teaching. Specifically teaching beginners, which is an entirely different skill. I remember what it felt like to not understand the game, and that makes me effective at making the unclear become clear without overwhelming anyone.
I hold a Bachelor's degree and adapt completely to each student's pace and learning style. If something isn't clicking I find a different way to explain it — not repeat the same thing louder.
Outside chess I'm deeply interested in human psychology and understanding how people think — which honestly makes me a better teacher. I pay attention to how each student thinks, not just whether they get the right answer.
I work with students globally and enjoy the cross-cultural exchange that comes with teaching young learners from different backgrounds.
If your child is a complete beginner or has struggled to learn chess before — this is exactly where I'd like to help.

I teach chess the way I wish someone had taught me — with patience, curiosity, and zero pressure. My focus is always on building genuine understanding rather than memorizing moves.
I use visual demonstration on a live board, ask questions rather than just giving answers, and adjust my pace completely to the student. If something isn't clicking, I find a different way to explain it — not repeat the same thing louder.
We start with a quick warmup — reviewing what clicked and what didn't from last time. Then we work on one concept only — tactics, piece movement, basic strategy — through puzzles and guided play. We finish with a short game where I observe and give feedback. One thing at a time, done well.
After every class parents receive a short written report covering what was covered, how the student performed, and homework assigned for next session. This keeps parents informed and ensures continuity between lessons.
Three years teaching beginners from USA, Europe, and beyond has taught me that every child learns differently. I follow the student, not a rigid script. Parents regularly tell me their child looks forward to lessons — that matters more to me than fast rating improvement.
