About Mikaela
I am a teacher at heart and love my work. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have helped hundreds of university students excel at Chinese. I have also taught primary and high school students, both privately and for the Confucius Institute, so I am comfortable with all ages.

With younger learners I use the method of TPR (Total Physical Response) which works well in the online environment. I use puppets, props and try to make lessons as entertaining as possible. We learn when we are having fun!
For older children, teenagers and adults I adapt my methods accordingly. I believe in harnessing the advantages of the online platform. I use videos, links, images and software to make the learning experience as rich as possible.
I am an eternal student of Chinese myself, so am very well placed to assist learners with the unique challenges that face them.
