About Karan

Hi, I'm Karan. Before I was an engineer, I was a chess player.

I reached master level, and then spent years coaching kids — most of them between 9 and 13. That is where I learned the thing this whole profile rests on: children do not struggle with hard ideas. They struggle with badly explained ones. A ten-year-old can understand how a model makes a prediction. Nobody has just bothered to show them properly.

Most children today use ChatGPT to avoid thinking. I teach them to build the thing ChatGPT is running on.

I studied Computer Engineering and worked as a Product Manager at a software company, which is where I learned to break complicated systems into steps a beginner can actually follow.

Today I build AI systems, the two businesses I run are operated day to day by AI agents I built and maintain myself. They handle scheduling, follow-ups, reporting and coordination across a team of coaches and students in 15+ countries so I know what it takes to teach a child every week for a year, not just for one impressive demo lesson.

Here is the shift most parents haven't been told about. Your child is being taught to write loops by hand at exactly the moment when the valuable skill has become something else: directing AI to build real things, and understanding enough to know when it is wrong. Syntax is no longer the bottleneck. Judgment is.

That is what I teach. And I teach it to children, deliberately not to CS undergraduates with a kids' discount.

Parents are welcome to sit in on the first lesson. Most do.

Every session is live and one to one. Nothing is pre-recorded. There is no chapter one that every child sits through regardless of who they are. We start from what your child is actually interested in — a game, a robot, a story, a YouTube channel , Chat-GPT , Claude etc and we build toward it.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Most of my students look like this:

. A child aged 8 to 12 who has never coded, is curious about AI, and asks a lot of questions. This is the ideal starting point.
. A teenager who has done a Scratch or Python course, got bored, and has nothing to show for it. We fix that by building something real.
. A parent worried their child is only a consumer of AI — chatting with it, generating pictures — and who wants them to be a builder instead.
. A child who is strong at maths or chess and needs somewhere to put that thinking. This is the student I understand best.
. A student aged 14 to 16 who wants a portfolio project, an olympiad entry, or something genuine for a school or college application.
. An adult or working professional who wants to use AI properly. I teach these students too.

PRACTICE BETWEEN LESSONS

One lesson a week is not enough on its own, and most children forget half of it by the next session. So every student gets access to my own practice platform — coding and AI questions matched to exactly what we covered that week, with points, streaks, badges and a weekly leaderboard.

This is the part parents tell me makes the difference. Children practise because they want to hold their streak, not because they were told to. I can see what each student attempted and where they got stuck, so I walk into the next lesson already knowing what to fix. Nothing is guessed.

HOW I TEACH

1. One project at a time. Concepts get taught inside the build, never as a lecture before it.
2. No copy-pasting code they don't understand. If your child cannot explain what a line does, we slow down until they can. This is the rule I break for nobody.
3. Progress you can see. Projects and practice data, not test scores. After every lesson I send you a short summary of what was built, what was practised, and what's next.
4. No fixed pace. A fast child moves fast. A careful one gets the time they need.

THE FIRST CLASS IS FREE

It is a real lesson, not a sales call. Your child builds something small and working in that hour, you watch how I teach, and then you decide. If it isn't a fit, tell me — I'd rather that than a parent paying for lessons their child dreads.
