About Lou
Sitting at the bench during a quiet San Francisco morning, I carefully refine the phrasing of a complex Chopin nocturne for a student. My background includes 13 years of instructing pupils ranging from adult hobbyists to conservatory aspirants, all while maintaining the technical rigor required for MTNA competition success. My degree from the Oberlin Conservatory grounds my approach in deep MUSICAL PRECISION.
I weave together ear training, pop and contemporary styles, accompaniment skills, memorization techniques, and advanced dynamics. My practice sessions often highlight the subtle nuances of pedaling technique, scales, arpeggios, and sight playing.
