About Elaina
I am a college freshman, about to enter my sophomore year, who is currently working on a degree in Mathematics. I am well-versed in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus AB. I am a novice tutor with little experience outside of occasionally providing support to my peers who have struggled with math, I've found a passion for teaching and helping others and am eager to expand my experience by providing aid on a grander scale.

In mathematics, it is essential to have a good foundation, which in most cases resides in Algebra. I re-enforce this foundation while catering to a specific student's learning style, encouraging the student by reiterating that the mastery of Algebra can lead to the mastery of the other branches of mathematics. As for the method of teaching math, I believe that mathematics is easiest to digest when broken down into steps that easily correlate to each other in order to provide coherency for a student who is struggling to find 'the bigger picture'. Math does not have to overwhelming and overbearing--any student can learn math regardless of initial proficiency.
