About Marissa
As a high school and college student, I always worked as a tutor to help pay my own tuition. I double-majored in chemistry and mathematics, so I have lots of experience with all kinds of STEM tutoring. After managing a math tutoring company for a few years, I started teaching my own science courses at colleges. I'm used to working with students at all different levels and ages, and I'm looking forward to resuming this work virtually!

I like to begin all of my sessions with a quick Q&A. What's the biggest problem you're having right now? What doesn't make sense? Did you find yourself getting lost throughout any of your lessons? Are you struggling with anything in particular on your homework? Some students need a complete reiteration of a lesson, and some students simply need a bit of homework help. As someone who has worked with students ranging from elementary school to college, I like to think I'm good at assessing student needs and getting to the root of the problem. I cater to what every student needs to succeed.
