About Kya
I have a 3 year experience tutoring in a 8th Grade Geometry class and a 3rd/4th grade combo class. I worked one-on-one with several students who needed extra assistance with their school work. I worked with them during class to make sure they didn't fall behind. Additionally, I also held tutoring sessions everyday after school for students that could come in for homework help. In this type of setting I tutored not only different levels of Math but English and Science as well.

I'm Kya! I am an undergraduate student at Clark Atlanta University majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology. In high school, I realized the classes that I liked the most weren't necessarily the topics I enjoyed. Rather, it was the teachers that taught the subject. These teachers were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material to the class. I try to bring this type of knowledge to the table when I tutor students. I use lesson plans when I introduce a new concept in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards, I always ensure extra time for the students to practice the material on their own. Of Course, this method can be altered depending on the subject.
