About Selin
I hold a Master’s Degree in Piano Studies and have 12 years of experience teaching students from beginner to advanced levels. My academic training included solo recital preparation, ensemble collaboration, and advanced music analysis. These experiences strengthened my ability to balance technical discipline with artistic interpretation. Throughout my career, I have supported students preparing for performances, examinations, and personal musical goals.
My teaching style combines organization with encouragement. I believe consistent practice and clear guidance lead to steady improvement. My piano lessons focus on building a strong technical foundation while encouraging expressive interpretation. We begin with posture alignment, relaxed wrist movement, and proper finger curvature to ensure healthy technique. I guide students through structured scale and arpeggio practice to strengthen coordination and finger independence. Rhythm training includes counting exercises and steady tempo work to improve timing accuracy. Each session starts with organized warm-ups that prepare the hands and improve focus before working on repertoire. I explain musical concepts clearly so students understand how technique supports artistic expression.
As learners progress, we explore dynamic control, phrasing development, and pedal technique. I introduce music theory in simple language to deepen understanding of harmony and structure. Pieces are practiced in sections to ensure accuracy before combining them into complete performances. For recital preparation, we simulate performance conditions to build concentration and confidence. Detailed home practice plans are provided to maintain steady improvement between lessons.
My goal is to help students become confident and expressive pianists. I provide balanced feedback that highlights strengths while guiding areas for improvement. Over time, learners develop stronger finger control, clearer tone quality, and deeper musical understanding.
