About Xan

I know school is tough, especially if you are involved in so many extracurriculars... I know I was.

Sports teams, music, food drives, student council - these are all passions many of my students actively participate in. They were/are all passions of mine.

My goal as an educator is to make sure YOU succeed and are able to continue to pursue what YOU want to do. The hard truth; to do what we WANT to do, we have to learn some things we might not enjoy to get us there. BUT, I promise I will try to make that road a bit smoother.

It's not always easy to learn languages. Unlike many other areas of school, PRACTICE is difficult. You might not have someone to speak with, or prompts to write about. Grammar becomes a headache fast, believe me. BUT TRUST ME, if I can do it, YOU CAN TOO.

I am here to help however I can.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and adaptable. I believe that true learning happens through active engagement rather than passive listening, so my sessions focus on creating a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking ownership of their learning.

Active Engagement & Dialogue: Rather than lecturing, I use guided questioning to help students arrive at answers independently. This reinforces critical thinking and deeper comprehension.

Scaffolded Learning: Complex topics are broken down into manageable, step-by-step concepts. We build a solid foundation before advancing to higher-level analysis or complex assignments.

Practical & Applied Practice: Every concept learned is immediately put into practice—whether that involves analyzing a text, working through writing exercises, or applying feedback in real time.

Differentiated Instruction: Every student processes information differently. I adapt my explanations, visual aids, and pace to match each student’s unique learning style and goals.
