About Claire Noelle
I have ten years of musical training and experience. I am a graduate of the Longy School of Music of Bard College, and a current Master of Music Student at the University of Nebraska Omaha. My studies in music performance have equipped me with the skills and knowledge to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. I received thorough training in music performance, theory, history, pedagogy, and teaching artistry. I am currently a music theory TA at the University of Nebraska. During my undergraduate degree I participated in the El Sistema Side by Side program (an orchestra where young students play with and are mentored by college students). I am passionate about making music education available to all. The values derived from music—patience, persistence, self-awareness, discipline, and empathy—are vital to preparing students to make a difference in the world.

I believe the best method of teaching is one that recognizes the diversity of learning. A single concept can be approached from many angles, and I am committed to finding the best way to communicate with each student. Although I am flexible in the methods that I use to teach, I believe a solid foundation in:
-technique, the physical aspects of playing the flute
-sound, the quality and musicality of playing,
are essential.
Good communication and self assessment skills are vital for musicians. All musicians must be masters of self teaching, so reflection and discovery and central to my teaching.
Regardless of how concepts are approached, all students will acquire the skills (musical and practical) needed to continue to the next part of their musical journey.
The charge of teachers is to see the potential in each student, and help them reach the next level of mastery. I can’t wait to partner with you!
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Claire obtained an excellent music education and continues to challenge herself musically by participating in private lessons, seminars, and live performances. She is an excellent communicator and a dynamic, thoughtful teacher who focuses on each student, tailoring lessons to the student's age, level of experience and learning style.
Claire is a student of mine who graduated with her Undergrad and still continues to improve her craft with regular lessons under me. This shows how determined and passionate Claire is about learning every corner of flute playing. She is hungry for repertoire, techniques and tone development. She has a contagious personality and a perfect formula for teaching. I highly recommend her as a flute teacher. You won't regret it.
Claire has mastered the art of expecting the best from her students while also understanding that they are students and learning. She offers gentle correction and advice on how to consistently perform well and can relate well with students of all ages. She understands that everyone has a different experience and tailors her teaching to fit that. Whether she's teaching a child prodigy or an adult lifetime learner, she can cater her teaching style to draw out the best musician from them.
Claire has dedicated herself to mastering the flute and it’s repertoire more than virtually any flutist I know, and this includes most of the flutists in America’s leading orchestras!. She has received the best instruction from the best teachers, and is eminently qualified to pass on her knowledge and talent and help train other flutists at any level. She was among the best of my students and her dedication to mastering the instrument and its music will easily inspire her students to excellence! Daniel Morgenstern, former Principal Flute of the Jerusalem Symphony.
