I love helping students feel confident - and it's a bonus when we have fun doing it! I specialize in breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps, and I always tailor my approach to each student’s unique learning style. Whether we’re preparing for a big exam or strengthening foundational skills, my goal is to make learning feel approachable, empowering, and even enjoyable. I believe that with the right guidance and support, every student can succeed.

About the lesson

I LOVE TUTORING!

I hold a B.S. degree from UC Santa Barbara in Computer Science, and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. I taught 12th grade Calculus for three years in a public school here in San Diego. I am able to design engaging lessons that supported a wide range of learners and regularly incorporate visual models and open-ended problem solving to help students build deeper conceptual understanding - and JOY. My classroom experience gave me a strong foundation in differentiating instruction, maintaining student engagement, and adapting curriculum to individual needs so that learning is inclusive, effective, and most importantly, fun.

In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have been tutoring students one-on-one for over ten years, both independently and through my own tutoring company. I have worked with students from elementary school through college, including those with ADHD and learning differences. My tutoring sessions are personalized and interactive, with a focus on building both skill mastery and student confidence. I believe in creating a warm and encouraging environment while also setting high expectations, and I draw on a variety of strategies - like visual supports, guided questioning, and executive function scaffolds - to help students succeed. Whether I’m teaching in-person or virtually, I aim to make learning math feel approachable, connected, and even fun.
