About Rav
I'm Rav — music producer, audio engineer, and founder of Shokunin Music Academy based in Birmingham.
I've spent years working at a professional level in the UK music industry, with credits alongside artists like Little Simz, Giggs, and Krept & Konan. That experience gave me a deep understanding of what it actually takes to build a career in music.
Teaching found me naturally. I realised early on that knowing something and being able to pass it on are two different gifts — I'm fortunate enough to have both. I built Shokunin Music Academy on one belief: that the right guidance, given with genuine care, can completely change someone's trajectory.
I show up, I invest in my students, and I don't move on until they've genuinely grown.

My Approach
I teach the way I wish I'd been taught — practically, honestly, and with real industry context behind every lesson. Every session is built around you. Your goals, current skill level, and the music you actually want to make.
Teaching Methodology
The first session is about you. We talk, I get to know where you're at, what you're trying to achieve, and what's been blocking you. Once I understand that we build a plan together.
From there, every lesson is personal. We move at your pace, with your goals as the north star. I genuinely care whether my students grow.
Lesson Length
Lessons are flexible and tailored to the student. Shorter focused sessions work well for specific topics; longer sessions suit hands-on production and deeper workflow development.
Delivery
Theory-based lessons are available online. Practical, hands-on sessions are available in-person across Rugby to Birmingham.
Qualifications & Experience
I'm a professional music producer, audio engineer, and founder of Shokunin Music Academy. My credits include work alongside Little Simz, Giggs, and Krept & Konan. I've been teaching music production formally and informally for years, helping students go from zero to release-ready.
