About Zadie
With over 3 years of piano teaching experience and a degree in Jazz Piano Performance, I help students discover the joy of musical collaboration. My teaching emphasizes accompaniment—supporting singers, soloists, and choirs with confidence and artistry. Students learn to read lead sheets, transpose, and adjust in real time. I focus on rhythmic feel, phrasing, and adaptability across multiple genres. Lessons are designed to build practical skills while nurturing creativity. Whether you’re learning for school, church, or the stage, I adapt my approach to your needs. I’ve guided beginners developing foundational rhythm and advanced players refining performance techniques. Every session encourages listening and communication—two key traits for great accompanists. We also explore improvisation, jazz voicings, and dynamic control. My goal is to create a supportive, inspiring space for growth. Teaching piano accompaniment means teaching collaboration. Together, we’ll unlock your ability to connect and create through the piano.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in freedom and expression. I help students transform their piano playing into a personal voice. Lessons cover improvisation in jazz, blues, and pop—styles that encourage exploration and emotion. We work on melodic shaping, comping variations, and harmonic fluency. I emphasize spontaneity through simple but powerful creative exercises. The Jazz Pianist learns to think harmonically and play fluidly through progressions. The Pop Player discovers how to shape songs with their own arrangements. My feedback is consistent, encouraging, and centered on musical identity. I teach how to balance control with instinct, planning with play. Students learn how to make each performance unique. Lessons are relaxed, supportive, and designed for creative flow. I help each learner connect theory to feeling through real application. Over time, you’ll develop freedom at the keys and confidence in your sound. Together, we’ll make improvisation second nature.
