I like to be patient with students while challenging them. I would usually start by figuring out what the student already knows, and asking them what confuses them. I'd then explain the subject in a way the student could understand, and I don't mind going over it again if they are having trouble. I'd give them practice problems and guide them through it before gradually lowering the assistance I give in order to encourage independence with their problem-solving. I can teach any age, as long as they are taking a class that I have already taken and feel confident teaching to others.
