About Fletcher

I have always wanted to tutor maths/science, although I'm not your typical tutor. I do a lot of research and spend a lot of time working out how I can best learn as to prepare for my challenging Law Degree. I'm also a bit of a dreamer; In a world pre-covid, I got with some friends and we created an investment company; we had a lot of plans, we were friends with creatives who made music and who were aspiring to make short films, we decided to manage them and provide them financial support on the premise that their growing interest would have meant it would have been monetisable for us down the line, unfortunately, this never turned out the way we intended as covid had affected our plans in ways that were unprecedented. During covid I started freelancing on Fiverr, I soon realised that I didn't want to undervalue myself with menial tasks and incorporated my brand into an LTD where I'd provide a consultant position and help with startups and the liking. I studied Maths and Business at college; I am currently on a gap year and will study law at Goldsmiths in September 2021. I am very creative; when I have a good idea, I am determined and driven. My hobbies involve playing strategy games in my free time; I find that this brings me a nice challenge and a break from my work. Looking forward to what the post-covid world brings me, I'm hoping that I'll receive the same opportunities that covid life has brought me.

About the lesson

I like to encourage the people I teach to first perfect their strengths to make sure they have these completely air tight for any exams. After prioritising strengths I like to work on their weaknesses, and then when this too has reached an air tight level, we're able to work on things they're average at. Near to actual exam days I do like to switch this up a bit and instead prioritise on weaknesses, the aim won't be to make sure they have it with as high an accuracy as possible, but instead to ensure if the topic comes up they are able to attempt it instead of skipping it.

A typical lesson would last 50 minutes, I feel it's best to keep the lessons on this side of time as if you go over it can end up being counterintuitive due to attention spans.

I also encourage students to try picking up athletic hobbies or incorporating daily exercise into their routines. You'd be surprised how much being healthy can affect someone's ability to retain information and apply knowledge.

I teach both A Level and GCSE students. I do prefer tutoring GCSE students as I feel the resources available to them through their school tends to be lacking in comparison to Colleges/Sixth Forms.
