About Alex
Hello! I’m Alex; a current Psychology and Sociology teacher in Nottingham. I am a qualified teacher, and have a number of years of experience teaching a wide variety of different learners with different learning needs. I find nothing more rewarding than teaching and seeing students achieve their potential. I constantly experiment and find new ways to get the best out of my students in all that I do, and every day is a school day! I am an energetic, friendly, bubbly personality who does not take life too seriously. I am not just an experienced teacher, but a coach who will go above and beyond to help you to reach your next steps; whatever they may be! No bar is too low! I will be your biggest cheerleader.

I believe in empowering learners to go beyond their expectations. It might sound cheesy, but with a personable approach and with an empathetic nature, I have a proven track record through numerous years teaching in colleges throughout the East Midlands of learners going above and beyond their expectations. The key component to do this is getting to know the learners and their strengths, using them to encourage independence and academic excellence. I like to encourage active learning, and learning through experience. I incorporate a variety of different assessment techniques, with opportunities to support and challenge, dependent on the level of learners. Regardless of level, I take a thorough and committed approach to teaching and learning. The typical length of a lesson can range from 1 hour to 1.5 hours. However, this is entirely dependent on the student and their needs, allowing flexibility. I am a current teacher at a further education college, teaching A Level Psychology and Sociology. Lessons delivered would be best suited to students of any age, studying A Levels in these subjects, or at GCSE.
