About Emily

I’m a student at university and currently on my gap year. I’m living between England and Germany this year and would like to use my spare time to focus on improving my skills for a potential career in education. I am a firm believer in the necessity of flexible teaching techniques for students as well as a personal commitment for educators to their students and subject. Reflecting on my own life, I can see the crucial role that dedicated teachers have played in my academic success by allowing me to develop and explore my own interests in literature and language, and I would love to do the same for someone else.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching English is first and foremost to encourage the student to confront the text as a work of art before incorporating the necessary exam technique (this becomes much easier once the text has inspired a personal response!)
