About Georgia
As both a practicing artist and a current PhD candidate in Art Education at the University of Cambridge, I believe my professional experience give me a unique perspective as a teacher. My personal aim is to share my own passion and experience in my subject, I believe studying art and design at any level helps to foster visual literacy and creative versatility, helping students to approach problem solving creatively which are fundamental skills in a rapidly changing world. I obtained a PGCE in Secondary Art & Design from the University of Cambridge in 2022 and so I am a fully qualified art teacher. I currently teach part-time in a UK secondary school alongside my PhD research. In my own student career, I was awarded the Felix Slade Scholarship and the Almacantar Award both at UCL, where I did an MA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Art in 2018. I was also awarded a First Class Honours for my BA in Fine Art: Painting at Wimbledon College of Art in 2014.

I am an experienced and versatile classroom teacher with experience teaching GCSE, BTEC, A-Level and International Baccalaureate. I take a lifelong approach to learning, and as a teacher I hope to pass on my enthusiasm for art and design, instilling students with the confidence to reshape the world around through their artwork. I foster aspirational and safe learning environments where each student feels supported to achieve their full potential. I can help you with exam preparation and portfolio preparation for applications to art college, introductory painting lessons, or even more specific advice on oil painting techniques, mediums, grounds and supports.
