About Kent
I’m a first year student at the University of Bristol studying a Bachelor of Science (BSc). My previous studies across GCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) have ingrained my passion and desire to succeed across literary and qualitative subjects which challenge critical thinking, analytical skills and essay-writing. Revisiting my latter secondary school years, it was in English Language and Literature lessons, that I learned of my ability to write essays and analyse literary novels, poems, prose and other works at a high level. This was essentially all thanks to my teacher who didn’t just read off slides and powerpoints, but individually challenged us, her students, to critically challenge the texts we encountered and apply various advanced literary techniques, methods and real-world context to hit those top criteria and ensure examiners knew of the conceptualised strengths of our responses to questions. This continued in my Sixth form years between year 12 and 13, where I was also dealt teachers who went above and beyond to teach the wider meaning of texts, their global and contextual applications, transcending past just the borderline analysis of a drama or a play. Because of my past experiences in subjects which I didn’t always find easy and extremely interesting at first, my passion and enthusiasm about these subject areas led me to pursue tutoring to those who would like to improve exam technique, strengthen foundations, and attain a real passion for the subjects they are studying.

I have a particular passion for my past curricular activity in essay-based subjects across both GCSE (English Language and English Literature) and the International Baccalaureate (HL English and HL Anthropology). I aim to provide not just a highly-achieving style of tutoring for your assessments, but also a safe, comfortable and trustworthy environment in which learning can thrive best and most effectively. You will not be the only one learning, as I too, will be learning of your personal strengths and weaknesses, finding solutions to your challenges and concerns, and making sure you enter exams with a competitive and enjoyable approach to attaining the highest possible marks.
