About Ella
I am a student currently studying at Deakin University, the course name is 'Bachelor of Art/Master of Teaching'. I am majoring in both Chinese and Literary studies.
I was born in China, Shanghai is my birth city, and I have lived in Australia since I was ten.
Both English and Chinese are my first language.

I like to tackle down my first lessons with my students with a rough understanding of each other first, a little knowledge about each other and what the students' current level of Chinese is at, and what the student needs help most! (i.e pronunciation, small vocabulary, bad writing practise, etc)
I would like to teach in the category that the student finds most interest in! I believe that students can only learn at best if they are enjoying what they are learning, therefore I believe learning should be fun before everything else!
Teaching is also another way to learn! If I feel the student is confident enough, I would like to give the student an opportunity to teach me something in Chinese (i.g a game they like to play, their favourite subject, a day in their life, etc), because this not only gives the students an opportunity to share something about themselves but also for them to use their learnings in real life! This can also help me assess the student on what areas they are good at and what they can improve on! Also, it helps the students to gain a boost in confidence in the knowledge they have learnt with me and enjoy learning much more!
