About Ellie
I'm a University student studying media and creative writing and I've been studying English for 8 years now. I have found effective ways to study and revise in that time, as well as clever ways to remember certain linguists, quotes and subject terminology. I think the education system over-complicates English and makes it seem boring. I'm devoted to making it fun again while you learn. As someone who has a published poem and is currently writing a book I can promise English can be fun and can lead you down paths you didn't even know existed. In my classes we will be looking at current day examples of literature, music, social media so we can put learning into a context you understand and enjoy!

I teach GCSE level English, as well as CV writing. As someone who found it difficult to learn simply from reading a PowerPoint, I have been committed to finding easier ways to learn without feeling overwhelmed and creating fun ways to retain information. I find it's easier to learn when your learning is put into a context you, personally, enjoy and is taught to you in the way your mind best processes information, because of this my lessons usually involve: . A subject terminology learning section . An explanation on how you would use these words in certain contexts . Then give you a chance to put what you have learnt into action, using something enjoyable. (e.g. if you liked football and we were learning about essay structure, I'd ask you to write a brief paragraph comparing two football teams using the subject terminology we learnt and the structure.) . I'd then give you a task to do for the next session. A typical lesson would be an hour long, however I can adjust if more time is needed.
