About Jessica
My name is Miss Jess. I am a single mother of two sons and a current Cyber Security and Information Assurance student. I recently completed my studies at Central Piedmont Community College with a 3.9 GPA. English has always been a passion of mine. Language skills are crucial for most aspects of life. Being able to clearly express oneself and understand others is critical to forming the life you desire.
I love learning, but I do not like *boring* learning. Learning is, and should be, exciting, enjoyable, and engaging. Otherwise, it's just work. We are not going to work. Learning should not feel like a chore. We are going to play. I have found students retain significantly more information if they enjoy the process of learning it.

I am dedicated to making learning enjoyable. We will engage in fun activities and assignments. Work will be just challenging enough to grow your student without frustrating them, which allows them opportunities to experience pride in their competency and develop self-assurance in their ability to learn new skills and overcome challenges and obstacles.
I teach Elementary to Middle School students with or without prior English, Reading, and/or Literacy development. I treat children as human beings with complete respect and consideration of their individual strengths and needs. I love engaging with children and watching them light up through the process of learning and perfecting skills. I am also a mother of two, so I am very accustomed to interacting with youths.
