Whether I teach in groups or supervise students individually; I always look at where you are in your development and what you need to progress. The idea is to make myself redundant. This means that I not only help you substantively to (learn to) understand and (learn to) grasp the subject matter, but also stimulate you to consider what the subject material says about you and the world in which you live. I like to encourage you to learn to look at yourself and to develop further as a person. This can be done at school, but also in a more creative way; by writing letters, making films or working on a project of your choice.
Have a lot of experience in giving tutorials at the university, thematic education at HBO level, the examination program VWO and freelance adult education. As a practical philosopher I give lectures, consults and facilitate dialogues in various settings.
I will soon be moving to Spain to write a book for Lemniscaat publishers. There I also map the work of a still unknown author and immerse myself in a 'Back to the Roots' project that investigates how people and nature can live mutually reinforcing with each other.
My classes are intended for anyone who, for whatever reason, wonders, wants to develop philosophically and/or simply make the best of his/her life.
I studied Cultural and Social Education in Venlo, Philosophy in Nijmegen, Content & Language Integrated Learning in Leiden and obtained my first degree in bilingual philosophy education.
Characteristic of my way of working is bridging the often difficult and abstractly formulated theory and the recognizable and tangible and current daily reality.
