About Dylan
I have spent over eight years helping students of all ages discover the deep joy and beauty of playing the piano. I hold a Graduate Diploma in Piano Pedagogy, which has provided me with professional, proven tools to guide your musical growth. My ultimate goal is to help you connect emotionally with every piece of music you choose to play in our lessons.
To achieve this, we focus on building a solid technical foundation that gives you complete control over your instrument. We will work closely on refining your pedal technique, mastering dynamic control, and developing a highly nuanced musical expression. I believe that even the simplest melody can sound incredibly beautiful when you learn how to balance your volume and touch.
For instance, I recently taught an adult student who played notes accurately but felt their performances sounded flat and mechanical. We focused on using the damper pedal smoothly and adjusting their hand weight to create soft, whispering tones. Within a few weeks, their playing completely transformed, and they were able to move their family to tears with a simple classical song.

My teaching methodology focuses deeply on developing strong auditory skills to help you become a much more intuitive piano player. We will explore essential ear training, which includes learning how to identify chords, melodies, and rhythms entirely by ear. I also guide my students through specialized exercises designed to develop perfect pitch and recognize complex musical patterns instantly.
This style of learning is perfect for creative students who write original songs or produce digital music using computer software. For example, I recently worked with a student who had brilliant musical ideas but struggled to translate the melodies in their head onto the keyboard. We practiced active listening techniques, and soon they could play back any progression they heard on the radio on their very first try.
