About Josie
I am a passionate and dedicated Piano tutor with 9 years of teaching and professional experience, committed to helping school and college students discover their musical potential. Teaching Piano is not just my profession; it is my calling.
Over the years, I have worked with students from different backgrounds, many of whom began as complete beginners. With patience, structured lessons, and constant encouragement, I have guided them towards building strong foundations in rhythm, scales, finger techniques, posture, and music reading.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been watching my students perform confidently at school functions and college cultural events. These moments remind me why I chose teaching. I believe that every student has hidden talent, and with the right guidance, they can achieve excellence.
My teaching style is supportive yet disciplined, ensuring students understand each concept clearly before progressing. I also encourage creativity and emotional expression so that students can connect deeply with the music they play. Piano education not only improves technical skills but also strengthens concentration, patience, and self-confidence. My mission is to inspire students to believe in themselves, practice with dedication, and carry their love for music throughout their lives.

My piano teaching philosophy combines discipline and artistic freedom through Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring music. I motivate students by showing them how consistent practice leads to improvement and confidence.
Communication is always clear and detailed, covering scale patterns, note values, rhythm counting, chord structures, and expressive playing techniques in simple language. I carefully demonstrate techniques and supervise practice to ensure correct learning.
Integrity is at the heart of my teaching, as I maintain professionalism, punctuality, and honest feedback. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation sessions, emotional interpretation of songs, and simple melody writing exercises. In addition to piano, I also provide lessons in music theory, sight reading, ear training, and keyboard fundamentals to strengthen overall musicianship.
