About Katherine
I am an experienced Piano teacher with more than 12 years of teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of various ages and skill levels, including school students, college students, and working professionals.
My teaching approach combines structured learning with creativity and flexibility. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my methods to suit individual needs and goals.
Students in my classes learn piano techniques, scales, chords, rhythm, sight reading, ear training, music theory, and performance preparation. I emphasise both technical accuracy and musical expression to help students become well-rounded musicians.
Apart from Piano, I teach keyboard skills and music theory. I encourage students to understand the concepts behind the music they play, helping them develop deeper musical knowledge.
I am committed to helping students gain confidence, improve their abilities, and enjoy the process of learning music. Seeing students succeed and grow is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

My teaching methodology is based on communication, creativity, flexibility, and a supportive learning environment. I believe every student has unique strengths, so I design lessons that match individual learning styles, interests, and goals. My aim is to help students enjoy learning while building strong piano skills with confidence.
Every student starts by learning the fundamentals, including proper posture, hand position, finger exercises, note reading, rhythm, and basic music theory. Once these skills become comfortable, I introduce scales, chords, arpeggios, dynamics, pedal techniques, sight reading, and expressive performance. I make sure each topic is fully understood before introducing the next one.
I encourage students to listen carefully, understand musical ideas, and play with expression instead of only focusing on correct notes. Practical demonstrations, regular revision, and personalised feedback help students improve steadily and develop confidence.
Students also explore different musical styles such as classical, pop, devotional songs, movie themes, and modern music. Creative activities like improvisation and accompaniment encourage musical thinking and self-expression.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard fundamentals, music theory, rhythm training, ear training, sight reading, performance preparation, and music appreciation. These subjects help students become complete musicians with both practical and theoretical knowledge.
My goal is to create enjoyable lessons that inspire confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.
