About Stephanie

I am a bilingual French and English speaker with excellent skills across all areas in writing, reading, listening and speaking. I also am a fluent Spanish teacher, and teach Modern Foreign Languages in a fully comprehensive secondary school in inner London. After having achieved a distinction at King's College University in London, I did my PGCE and now am a Newly Qualified Teacher with much experience of teaching both in person and online! I enjoy teaching and helping others, and want to share with you my skills and knowledge so as to make you a confident and competent linguist!

About the lesson

After having studied Modern Foreign Languages for five years at a reputable university in central London, I believe I have gained the skills that are essential to shape a trustworthy and strong tutor. I studied for half a year in Montreal at a French university, developing my skills in speaking, translation, linguistics and proofreading, and spent the over half studying at Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where I learnt to perfect my Spanish and Catalan spoken and written skills. Moreover, I grew up in France and therefore I am a bilingual French-English speaker with high ability in all areas including reading, writing, speaking, grammar, translation and interpretation. After having undertaken my PGCE, I am also a newly qualified teacher in Modern Foreign Languages, and therefore know what it takes to teach languages to students across all ages from primary to secondary level. My experience so far as a teacher of languages in a school in inner London has made me realize how undervalued languages are in this day and age, therefore I want to offer my skills further through tutoring and help others perfect and enhance their language skills. I believe practice of grammar and speaking is a key element in language learning. Having the ability to communicate in another language is such an asset to possess and my style of teaching includes many opportunities to practice this skill. I also have an array of resources suited to all ages and abilities, which can be taught online and on live sessions. Typical tutor times are around 30-60 minutes depending on the requirements of the individual. After having worked with many students with Special Education Needs and Abilities, I understand and am aware of how to adapt my teaching to suit the needs of all. All individuals work at a different pace, therefore I would tailor my teaching to suit you as an individual whether you are at beginner or advanced level, and whatever age you may be. We would work together on a weekly basis, or even multiple times per week to ensure that we are working towards your goals and fulfilling your ability to become a competent speaker/writer/linguist in either French, Spanish and/or Catalan! I am very flexible with hours, as long as these are outside of my teaching time, then I can work mostly around you. Moreover, my kind and caring nature makes me more understanding as a tutor, therefore the tutoring sessions will be made to be enjoyable rather than lengthy and boring!
