About Henry
I am a recent Durham University Biochemistry graduate and am currently studying for an MSc in Biotechnology. Throughout my degree I developed a strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and scientific problem-solving, alongside extensive laboratory and research experience.
My academic work included a first-class research project investigating cell cycle regulation in yeast and a research placement focused on recombinant protein expression and enzyme biochemistry. These experiences strengthened my analytical skills and my ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and logically.
I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and understand topics with confidence rather than simply memorising facts. Having recently completed GCSEs, A Levels and university assessments myself, I understand the challenges students face and can provide practical advice on revision techniques, exam preparation and effective study strategies.
I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence and reaching their full potential.

My lessons are designed to build confidence, understanding and exam performance. Rather than relying on memorisation, I focus on helping students understand the underlying concepts so they can apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions and achieve top grades.
I tailor every lesson to the individual student, identifying areas of weakness and adapting my teaching style to suit their needs. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and can include topic explanations, worked examples, exam-style questions, revision strategies and past paper practice.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Durham University and am currently studying for an MSc in Biotechnology. During my degree I completed laboratory research projects in molecular biology, biochemistry and data analysis, giving me a strong understanding of the subjects I teach.
I offer tuition in Biology, Chemistry and Maths for GCSE and A Level students, as well as support for university applicants and first-year undergraduate students. Whether you are aiming to improve your confidence, boost your grades or prepare for important exams, I will provide clear, supportive and structured lessons to help you reach your goals.
