About Ben
I am a History graduate from Durham University. I have an excellent academic background, and have clocked up 30 hours, tutoring a handful of students. I am looking to expand my number of students. I have a fantastic understanding of the GCSE and A Level syllabus across a number of subjects. Additionally, I have helped a number of students with university applications; my students have gone on to secure places at universities such as Cambridge, UCL and King's.

Every potential student will receive a FREE personal consultation. During this brief and introductory session, I discuss the individual challenges the tutee faces, and build a plan for a future lesson.
During teaching sessions, I abide by the official Tutoring Standards teaching method. What this means in practice is that lessons are a non-judgemental space in which students' strengths and weaknesses are assessed. Rather than a teacher-to-student lecture, my classes revolve around discussion, with lots of questions being asked by the student. This is the most effective way for tutees to grapple with the often challenging topics the curriculum can throw up.
My work experience background in journalism means I have excellent communication skills, and teach ideas in a clear and concise manner.
