About Tom

I am an Economics student, 20, at Durham University. I have just attained a 1st in my first year exams and I have tutored French for 3 years now. I have given over 70 hours of tutoring lessons, primarily in oral classes but also directly for exams such as GCSE, A-level, Common Entrance.

About the lesson

I have a very open teaching method where there will always be a constant interaction where I will have the student constantly writing, saying, reading as a language requires proactive learning with constant repetition and practice. I also base my classes around a build up of grammar to begin with as vocabulary is something that is wasted in a paid lesson, for it is certainly something that you need to commit to learning. The paid time should be focused on learning grammar and speaking techniques which require greater explanation, whereas vocabulary is a job to do on one's own for the most part.

I have a free cancellation policy, unless within 24 hours, but as always there can be reasons why people may need to cancel so this is dependent on the reason. For a cancellation within 24 hours, I would charge a £5 cancellation fee. Also each price is the same for any standard of student.
