About Hana

I am someone who is driven by learning, purpose, and people. I have built my life across Singapore and New Zealand, moving through education, community work, sustainability, and social impact because I genuinely enjoy growing through new experiences. I hold a PhD in Education, a Master's in Organisational Leadership, a BA (Honours) in English, a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), and an Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance for adult education. I picked up archery at 33 and became a coach. I recently completed a kayaking course. I even took a postgraduate qualification in Land and Society simply because I wanted to challenge myself.

I am not afraid to enter new industries or unfamiliar spaces. I thrive on curiosity, and I bring that same energy to the people I work with. My love for learning is contagious. Students often catch that momentum and start believing they can stretch themselves too.

At my core, I am warm, straightforward, and honest. I value real conversations and real growth. I care about equity, opportunity, and helping people gain the confidence to move forward. Whether in a classroom, a workshop, or a community setting, I try to leave people and places better than when I found them. That is who I am, both in work and in life.

About the lesson

I teach English through real-world thinking, not memorization. I enjoy discussions and critical thinking, and I help students build skills like inference, deduction, analysis, and clear expression. I do not just teach the language. I also develop general knowledge and real-life communication. My lessons are practical, engaging, and personalized to each learner. Students learn the technicalities of English through real situations such as articles, speeches, debates, and problem solving. This helps them understand how English works and why it matters. I guide students step by step, encourage their ideas, and build confidence through honest feedback and meaningful learning. If you want lessons that stretch your mind and strengthen your English at the same time, my approach will suit you.
