About Daniel

I am a classically trained musician from the age of 6. I was inspired to take it all the way. All musical knowledge helps you to play and write and I have learned and unlearned stuff, which for me includes County Brass Band and The Halle of Manchester Choir. Those were great experiences making sounds in lots of concert halls.
Left handed playing is my natural wiring, so my singing kind of bridged a transition from youth to adult. Now, I don't imagine it any different.

I mentioned earlier that I made the switch from right to left handed playing and I analysed all the ways in which I improved some years down the line and wrote it all in a booklet for students. That I have the comparison between both is an asset, that I can pass on.
The rendering of notes must include a handful of factors:
a) tone, b) the availability of fingers to play subsequent notes, c) articulation
Don't overextend. Bad habits will reduce your practise and is tricky to correct.
I can recommend using a keyboard to help learn theory. It is visually more practical than the guitar, although the guitar neck is a uniform shape.

Guitar is a mid range instrument with a little under 5 octaves on a 22 fret neck. It is tuned to concert pitch. This means that an A on manuscript is an A on guitar. The open pitch has some flexibility and it is easily transposed using using a capo, which is recommended for beginners anyway. This is so that there is less stretching involved. (Have the capo on the 7th fret.)
