About Matthew
I am a Piano tutor with over 12 years of experience dedicated to helping college students become skilled and confident musicians. I believe that every student deserves personalized attention and a learning environment that encourages creativity and growth.
My teaching style combines patience, clear communication, and practical learning. I explain musical concepts in simple English and use demonstrations that make difficult topics easier to understand. Students are encouraged to practice consistently and enjoy the learning process.
I use innovative methods such as technology-assisted learning, rhythm activities, ear training, interactive exercises, and customized lesson plans. These methods make learning enjoyable while helping students achieve better results.
Students develop strong skills in note reading, scales, chords, posture, finger coordination, rhythm, and musical expression. I provide ongoing support and personalized feedback to help every student achieve their musical goals.

My teaching methodology combines communication, creativity, flexibility, and structured learning. I believe students achieve their best results when they learn in a supportive environment where progress is steady and enjoyable. My lessons are organized to match the student's abilities while encouraging confidence and curiosity.
Students first learn proper posture, hand position, finger exercises, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. They then continue with scales, chords, dynamics, articulation, pedal techniques, expressive performance, sight reading, and musical interpretation.
I teach using demonstrations, guided practice, revision, and listening exercises. Students receive personalized feedback and practical assignments that strengthen both technique and musical understanding. Regular progress reviews help students stay motivated.
Students also experience music from classical, pop, devotional, movie, and modern genres while developing creativity through accompaniment and improvisation. These experiences improve artistic confidence and performance skills.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard, ear training, rhythm exercises, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, beginner composition, and performance preparation. These supporting lessons help students become versatile musicians.
My goal is to create enjoyable lessons that help students reach their full musical potential.
