• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I developed an interest in private tutoring during my senior year of high school when I first started doing private tutoring on a different platform. What makes me particularly enjoy private tutoring is seeing measurable progress and improvements in my students' performance. This includes seeing my students' grades go up, and seeing my students score higher on the SAT than they did before my tutoring. This feeling of accomplishment and pride from seeing my students growth and development is what drives me to do private tutoring.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I tutor various subjects in mathematics as well as computer science and occasionally physics. This includes pre-calculus, introductory calculus, linear algebra, multivariable calculus, Python, Java and more. Besides tutoring academic mathematics and computer science, I've also helped people prepare for competitions and contests such as the AIME and USACO. The curricula and concepts in the competition-level are often very different compared to what is taught in school.
  
  Besides tutoring my clients and helping them learn, I also discuss the logistics of their classes and adapt to their class schedules if they are seeking help with a certain class. For instance, if a student has an exam coming up, I develop a tutoring schedule leading up to their exam that adapts to the scheduling of the exam.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  While I don't have any one particular role model, there are numerous inspirational people throughout modern history who inspire me. Especially researchers and intellectuals such as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Alan Turing, who contributed to the development of human technology and scientific innovation.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  In order to be a good tutor, the most important quality is to have a passion for teaching and a desire to be part of the student's academic growth and development. That is the most important quality. A good tutor should be
  
  A good tutor should also understand that not everyone learns the same way, different students have different strengths and weaknesses, and a good tutor should be able to adapt and adjust their teaching methodology to best fit each individual student after getting to know their student and understanding what works best for them. It is important for tutors to work with their students closely and provide adaptive guidance that is tailored to best suit the student.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During my senior year of high school, I embarked on a challenging journey to earn the CompTIA Security+ certification, a credential that is highly regarded in the field of information security. Balancing my schoolwork with intensive study sessions, I dedicated countless hours to mastering the material, often staying up late to review complex concepts and practice exam questions. Despite the rigorous preparation required, my determination never wavered. When I finally took the exam at the age of 17, the moment I received my passing score was incredibly rewarding. Achieving this certification not only boosted my confidence but also solidified my passion for information technology and cybersecurity, setting the stage for my future academic and professional pursuits.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

  One of the most intriguing challenges I've encountered in my study of mathematics is the concept of incompleteness, famously articulated by Kurt Gödel in his incompleteness theorems. These theorems reveal a fundamental limitation within formal mathematical systems: there are true mathematical statements that cannot be proven within the system itself. This realization was both fascinating and unsettling, as it suggests that there is an inherent "hole" in the foundations of mathematics. Despite the precision and logical structure that mathematics is known for, this incompleteness implies that our understanding will always have boundaries. Grappling with this concept has deepened my appreciation for the complexity and beauty of mathematics, while also highlighting the importance of continuous exploration and questioning within the field.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  Besides having a passion for teaching, I also have a passion for information technology and research. I have ambitions and desires to contribute to humanity through the development of information technology research. I have the desire to actuate scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements that reshape the ways in which we utilize technology to store, compress, encrypt, and transfer information and data. Information theory and technology is a field in which I am deeply interested, and I plan to work on research projects in this field after graduating from college.
