About Abdullah
Hi, I'm Abdullah, a Mechanical Engineering student and academic director who uses math every single day, from calculus to vectors, and I tutor high school math in Oakville.
I went through the same Ontario courses my students take, so I know exactly how teachers word test questions and where marks usually get lost: skipped steps, sign errors, and word problems that hide simple algebra.
As academic director of my university's mechanical engineering course union, as well as owning a small private tutoring practice, I focus on one thing: 1-on-1 math for Grades 9-12. I keep notes on every student's mistake patterns, so each lesson builds on the last instead of starting over.
I'm patient, direct and easy to talk to. Students tell me math finally makes sense when it's broken into small steps. I never promise a specific mark, but I do promise you'll know exactly what to work on and why.

Most students who struggle in math aren't bad at math. They have two or three specific gaps from earlier units that keep tripping them up. My lessons start by finding those gaps, then fixing them in order.
How a 60-minute lesson works:
- Warm-up: one cold problem on last week's weak spot, to check it actually stuck
- Core: the topic you need right now, worked step by step until you can do it without me
- Challenge: one harder, multi-step problem so tests feel easier than practice
- Test-style question: written exactly the way your teacher asks it
You leave every lesson with a short homework set aimed at your mistake pattern, from easy to hard.
Who the lessons are for: Grades 9-12 Ontario math (MTH1W, MPM2D, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U), including functions, trigonometry, advanced functions and calculus & vectors. Great for test and exam prep, catching up after a rough unit, or pushing a solid mark higher.
In person in Oakville or online. The first step is a free 20-minute check where I find exactly where you're stuck and give you a plan, whether or not you book lessons after.
