About Tessa
Hi! I’m Tessa, and I’m passionate about making maths feel simpler and less intimidating.
I know from my own experience at school that maths can sometimes seem much more complicated than it actually is. I often found that teachers would overcomplicate the work, which made it harder to understand. Because of this, my approach to tutoring is to break each problem down into simple, manageable steps and explain it in a way that makes sense to you.
My goal is not just to give you the answer, but to help you understand why you’re doing each step so that you can eventually work through problems confidently on your own. I’m patient, approachable, and happy to explain something in different ways until it clicks!

My aim is to make complex concepts easily understandable, by doing loads of practice problems and physically working through exam level problems with students. I teach in English or Afrikaans. I offer lessons of R150/h. I offer lessons in Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry for High school students in need of a little extra help.
