Let's make sure we know why each concept is important. As a tutor I always want to emphasize why each lesson builds on each other.
Going through homework and giving similar problems is going to reinforce lessons and making sure to take it step by step, understanding why each works, makes for a fuller understanding.
As an artist we are taught to question everything, and I believe that's what makes a great tutor.
A typical session would include going over the lesson, asking questions to understand the concept. Then going into trying different problems, taking them slowly in order to get a grasp on how it will work.
