About Mackenzie
I am a current undergraduate junior studying mechanical engineering. Throughout my education journey, I commonly struggled with math and physics concepts. I felt behind compared to my other classmates, who seemed to understand easily. However, through continued practice, I gained confidence in my studies. I strongly believe it takes dedication, passion, and grit to succeed in anything. If you put in the work, it will show!
Now, math and physics are my absolute favorite subjects! I am passionate about helping other struggling students, because I was once in your shoes too.
Credentials:
I am currently a grading assistant for 400 Linear Algebra students. Prior to that, I was a teaching assistant for Physics I, II, and Algebra. This includes grading homework and quizzes, while also tutoring students on a weekly basis. I frequently tutor my peers as well.

I believe you learn by doing. Rather than teaching at you and expecting perfection, I want you to try! The more you do it, the more you will understand.
A typical session is guided based on the students' needs. Topics reviewed will be based on student requests.
This includes:
Concept review: reviewing topics and curricula that are difficult. Breaking them down to easy-to-understand ideas is essential to success
Specialized practice problems for hard-to-grasp concepts: We will do a few together, and as the student builds confidence, they will try several on their own.
Quizzes: To effectively prepare for in-class assessments, quizzes are designed to challenge the students' understanding without guidance
Remember, mistakes are encouraged! Messing up is the best way to learn, you don't know if you don't try : )
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Mackenzie helped me with linear algebra and differential equations. She is an amazing teacher, and was always patient and kind with me.
One thing I really appreciate about her teaching style is that she is always offering different approaches and examples that helped me look at problems a different way. With her, things clicked!View more recommendations
