About Cyntia

I am an 8th semester of English Language and Literature student who takes an interest in Linguistics (the study of 'Language'). I taught at SMAN 20 Surabaya as an apprentice teacher for 3 months, and taught grades 10 and 11. In late 2019 - early 2020, I taught private lessons for elementary and junior high school students, I taught 4 elementary and 5 junior high school students. Besides English, I have also taught private Mathematics lessons for elementary school students.

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology

The teaching that I will provide will adjust to the wishes and needs of students, and / or continue students' English lessons at school.

for the material and methodology that I provide myself are;

1. for elementary students: providing material by providing creative and unique pictures so that elementary students feel happy and fun in learning and can hone their creativity and imagination. After giving the material, I will give exercises in the form of pictures which will be answered by the student orally and in writing, so that students can learn English in terms of pronunciation and writing

2. for junior high school students: I will explain the material about Grammar, writing the correct sentence structure, and making / reading text in paragraph form.

- Grammar and sentence structure writing
(Explaining the material -> giving examples of questions and sentences -> giving practice questions -> students making sentences)
I will explain about grammar in stages, ( for example; there are 16 tenses). The first material I will explain about the 'Simple Present Tense' I will teach and explain the material until the student understands, then I will continue to explain the next tenses such as; 'Simple Past Tense'.
in grammar learning, I will explain about the grammar by giving examples of questions or sentences. when the child understands the material, I will give practice questions and / or ask the child to make a sentence based on the material, so that the child really understands the material that has been taught.

-create / read text
after the student has learned and understands grammar / tenses, students will learn to read the text and identify the text. In addition, students will practice making text / paragraphs based on the grammar they have learned
. Besides that, I will teach and explain to these students how to read text and answer questions based on the text that has been prepared.
