About Elske

I hold a Masters in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2016 with a thesis in Modern Adaptations of Shakespearean Comedy. I have since worked as a private tutor in London, helping my students gain both interviews and offers for further education. As a copywriter and proofreader, I have been published print for publications in Bristol and London, as well as extensively online. As a creative writer, I have had two plays taken on tour, one even abroad to a Festival in France.

My favourite job of all has been to help pupils learn to express and engage their imaginations through writing and through a love of reading; and my proofreading background has given me a meticulous eye for spelling, grammar and essay writing skills, which is of especial use to older pupils studying for their GCSEs, A-Levels and University papers.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to every individual. I am led primarily by what interests them in the subject, using this as the starting point from which we can branch out into their syllabus. I believe in nurturing their individual relationship to the subject material, an approach which I have found fosters a deeper and more lasting learning experience.

I am a patient teacher, and take enormous pride in every achievement my pupils make. I have taught 4-year-olds and proofread Masters dissertations, and genuinely enjoy the challenges that both bring.
