About Bridget
After 10 years of teaching in the Secondary School, I started Private Tutoring and I’ve been Tutoring English, Maths, Functional Skills for over 7 years now.
I have worked with students with English as a second language as well as students with little or no confidence. I see their confidence building in a maximum of three sessions with me. I’m able to come to their thinking level and shoot up with them: that builds the confidence.

I am an enthusiastic educator with empathy for learners and a passionate commitment to learning experiences. I possess strong organizational skills with innovative activities that address the diverse needs of learners . I am able to relate well with both adults and young people. I am down to earth and patient when dealing with students and their learning.
I started as a classroom assistant after I completed my ‘A’ Levels and I continued with teaching after my university education. I taught for five years in a secondary school and did one year supply teaching in both Primary and Secondary Schools. I have been tutoring primary and adult learners since then on one to one and group basis.
Students have different ways of learning. There are auditory, visual and kinaesthetic learners. I therefore apply a multi sensory approach of teaching to help meet the learning needs of each pupil. This makes learning challenging and rewarding.In my tutoring activities I always make my tutees learn from what is known to what is unknown to them. This makes learning more enjoying.I also encourage their learning by giving positive response when a learner gives a correct answer. This implies that learning has taken place.
