About Anthony

When studying computer science at university, I would often help my fellow classmates who were struggling, and some even asked me to tutor them. I discovered that I really enjoy helping people to improve with things they were struggling with, and that nothing gives me satisfaction like the "aha" moment of an unfamiliar concept finally clicking. During my industry placement I spent a year programming videogames - but still found the best part to be documenting and explaining things for others. Guess it's in my blood!

I've found that a lot of effective teaching stems from being patient, encouraging and listening to your students - in a way, you're learning from them too, what works and what doesn't. These qualities have allowed me to get concepts through to students where lecturers and other instructors haven't been able to do so. I hope I can help you as well!

About the lesson

I like to know your interests and motivations and integrate them into our lessons. I think one of the best ways of doing this is for you to pick a project that excites you and to help you finish it!

I'm on a gap year from studying Computer Science at university and have also spent a year in industry as a videogames programmer!

My lessons are for those getting started with programming - if you're unfamiliar with programming concepts like iteration, recursion, OOP and inheritance and would like to learn them in a practical way, I can help!

Lessons will last as long as you're comfortable for (I charge by the hour).
