About Carol
Do you find yourself wanting to play electric guitar but getting stuck on basic technique? I have worked with 346 students ranging from kids to working professionals. My BFA from ETSU provides the theory, while 13 years of experience keeps my feet firmly in the tradition of pickin parties. Tabs are useful, but I focus on how the music actually feels.
We will navigate electric technique and songwriting by listening closely to the source material. My approach keeps the joy of discovery at the center of every session.

Kids, absolute beginners, and returning players all need a bridge between technical drills and the music they hear on their records. My BFA training ensures we cover rhythm and theory, but the focus stays on your growth. I provide free chord charts and tab sheets after each class to keep your progress organized between meetings. These materials help you keep the music moving forward even when I am not in the room.
I enjoy seeing the exact moment a student connects a technique to a song they love. It reminds me of why I started playing back in Louisiana. Let us work together to find that same satisfaction in your own playing.
